I teach music composition, theory, and technology, as well as private violin and viola lessons. Imagination, joy, and creative listening are at the core of all my teaching.

Students of all ages, abilities and levels are welcome. The only prerequisites are a sincere desire to learn, and a strong work ethic. Online lessons are available for students anywhere around the world, and I also offer in-person lessons in New York City. My primary language is English, but I am also proficient in Spanish and French.

As a music educator, I share the joy and inspiration I find in my work as a composer and musician with students from all walks of life. I have over ten years of experience as a professional composer, musician, recording artist, and educator. I’ve taught undergraduate courses in music theory and orchestration at Brooklyn College and Temple University, and my private students have gone on to study at institutions including the Juilliard School and Swarthmore College.

I hold a PhD (ABD) from Temple University in Music Composition, an MM in Music Composition from Brooklyn College, a BMus in Viola Performance from Oberlin Conservatory, and a BA in Comparative Literature from Oberlin College. I am willing to adjust my hourly rate for students who demonstrate financial need.

Interested students can sign up for online lessons on TeachII.com, or contact me directly.
